We are Volunteers! Manos Internacional is a fully volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the United States. Volunteers from the US and around the world have come together to provide enriching educational, cultural, and youth development programs to children in poor, remote areas. We were founded in 2001 and established as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2005.
Many of our volunteers come from the communities we serve. Over the years, former students have returned to volunteer at Manos Community Centers and are making a big difference for the children in their communities.
Our Mission is "to Unite the World Through the Sharing of Cultures, Ideas, and Education."
Our Vision is that "all children are empowered by education."
Manos means "hands" in Spanish, and is significant to the hearts and minds of our volunteers who believe in lending a hand in any way possible. A common saying among our volunteers is "Do what you can, when you can." You can view more about how it all began on our videos page.
Manos serves children and volunteers through educational and cultural programs that include a model travel program, sports activities, arts and crafts, summer camps, field trips, educational sponsorships, cultural exchanges, and much more. We aim to inspire children to continue to educate themselves so that they can be stronger, healthier, and achieve brighter futures. Breaking the cycle of poverty requires dedication and hard work. Manos Programs bring opportunities in education and inspire children and volunteers to learn and achieve!
Because we believe education is the key to better world. Through the sharing of cultures, ideas, and education, the children we serve can better understand themselves, the world they live in, and the people they share it with. And, with a better understanding, today's children will create a better future.
