DYLAN
Dylan was almost a year old when he was first welcomed to the program, but had already faced a number of difficulties. His father abandoned him before he was born, and when he was 6-months old, his mother passed away from a rare illness. She was only 29 years old. Today, Dylan is being raised by his loving grandfather, facing the many hardships of life in the impoverished area, compounded by COVID-19 and the economic crisis on the Island. That said, somehow, Dylan and his grandfather still continue to share smiles, laughter, joy and love. They are part of the Manos Family now, and will continue to be supported as Dylan learns and grows. |

AISHA
Aisha was 2 months old when she became a part of the Manos En Cuba program. She is being raised by her single mother and grandparents. With the Island's economic issues, Aisha's mother lost her job and faced financial hardships. Manos En Cuba relief efforts help fill the gap for Aisha's needs as she grows, and looks to providing more educational opportunities and experiences at each visit--such as day-camp activities and field trips. The future looks bright for young Aisha! |

KARLA
Karla was 2 years old when she joined the program. Her mother lost her job due to COVID-19 and the economic crisis on the Island. Their living conditions lack many of the simple and basic needs of daily life, but Karla continues to share a smile with the world! In October 2023, Karla suffered severe burns from a house fire that ignited from the AC unit in her room, which exploded during the night. Her family and neighbors all rushed in to save her, and she survived. Thankfully, she had all the love and support of her family, community, and Manos Internacional to help her heal. Manos raised funds to help with a new AC unit, bed, and other items. Since then, volunteers have reported that Karla's carefree smile has returned full force! |

MEL JOSEPH
Mel Joseph was 5 years old when he first joined the program. Mel's father left Cuba in 2019, and he lives with his mother, aunt, and retired grandparents. When he first started the program, Mel was unable to attend school because his allergies were so severe. His symptoms and allergic reactions were being monitored and thankfully he was able to get back into the classroom. Today, he is able to attend school without issue, and enjoy Manos En Cuba visits, events, and field trips. |

LEONI
Leoni was 12 years old as he joined Manos in 2022. He is a special needs child who lives with his divorced, single mother, who also suffers from chronic health issues which prohibit her from working. He attends a school for special needs children, and the struggles of daily life are challenging for the entire family. In 2023, Manos supporters were able to support Leoni with a laptop for school, and the family was extremely appreciative! Today, Leoni continues to work hard in school, and looks forward to every Manos En Cuba visit. |

PAOLA
Paola was 6 years-old when she was welcomed to the program. She enjoys school, dancing, and being with her classmates. Paola lives with her mother and grandfather, and her cousin Dylan, who is also in the Manos En Cuba program. The family is still healing from the loss of Dylan's mother, Paola's aunt, while also facing hardships on the Island. Paola's father has very little contact with them. Despite all these issues, this family stays united and Manos is happy to lend them a helping hand in their time of need. |
