Student Study Spain at Manos Sites
From China to Mexico, students enjoyed studying Spain this quarter. Ask any student about Spain and they’ll know the continent, population, and all the ten key points studied. And they won’t stop talking about all the great things they encountered in their “visit.” Their community centers were transformed, passports were stamped, and they participated in everything from running in a bull-run, painting with Picasso and Dali, and enjoying Paella. What an amazing adventure for these children!

Before and After
The most remote site Manos serves is a small village in the mountainous region of Pingshan, China. Winter hits this northern village harshly and the one-room school house serving as our Manos site has been just as weathered as the land, which is why we’ve reached out to help out over the years. The before and after shots below show the school’s mud and clay bathroom (which was dilapidated and unsafe for the children especially as winter approached) and the play yard (which was in need of cementing due to the mud holes that were forming in heavy rain). With your support, we’ve been able to achieve the funding needed to help these children. It’s so important to be able to learn in a safe and comfortable environment.

New Program Emerges
This past Summer children of Zhuang Tou Village in China participated in a 5-week choir camp culminating with a performance for visiting volunteers and Manos Board Members. The Manos Junior Choir is a new program headed by Manos Volunteers--including former Manos students who are now volunteers! What a great new program for Manos children!
